Northern Lights Black Spruce

Northern Lights Black Spruce
Northern Lights Black Spruce (NLBS) is grown and harvested in Canada. It comes from a long history of Lakota Indians who would use spruce to strengthen their ability to commune with the Great Spirit. While it supports bodily health in a variety of ways, the reason I share about it this week is because of its ability to ground one emotionally, helping to release emotional blocks. Our souls, our very BE-ings need to be grounded, and touching nature. The smell of this oil takes me deep into the woods, and into the safety there, where I process my self and all that is going on consciously and subconsciously. It reminds me of camping out under the stars. It reminds me that I am small, but important in this big world. It also reminds me that I’d rather be hiking... but then, doesn’t everything?

Forgiveness

Forgiveness
Forgiveness is the choice to let go of the offense. Meaning that I am no longer offended that you did that. It is not your choice, it is mine. While I can choose what to hold on to, sometimes it feels like the pain of the offense holds onto me. This is where Forgiveness blend comes in. Blended to support the release of negative memories and emotional barriers, while raising self awareness, and moving towards the letting go. A beautiful blend of floral oils, with a little bit of wood, and some citrus, Forgiveness is a soft and beautiful scent. They say that forgiveness is divine, and some of the oils in this blend are often used for spiritual support and finding harmony, such as frankincense, ylang ylang, and melissa. I personally find the scent soothing, and enjoy breathing it in while journaling. While it can be purchased as a single, it also comes in the Feelings Kit, which has 6 blends chosen for their ability to support one on the emotional journey.

Foundational Soul Care

Foundational Soul Care
At the core of my self is the belief that humans are made for relationship, and to delight in the beauty of this world. Its why we crave relationship so deeply. And why we connect to nature to feel alive. This is the foundation of soul care.
When thinking of your soul, and what feeds it, think about the last time you were deeply moved. What moved you? As a write I am listening to a song that resounds in me in ways I have difficulty explaining. To me this is soul care, to feed my soul with beautiful music that I can delight in.
One of my favorite soul care activities is hiking. Over the weekend I hiked a path for the third time this month. Every time I’m there I experience it in a new way. This time when I reached the top, I curled up on a rock safely to the side of the falls, and took a nap! I was at such peace that I couldn’t fight the gentle thunder of the rushing falls pulling me in to rest. We all need activities that revive our souls, and pull us into peaceful rest.
As we think on soul care this week, I challenge you to identify those activities that help you delight in the beauty of this world. In the people who love you inside out. And that bring you to a place of peaceful rest.
